About the Event

CRISIS PLAY THERAPY™ WORKSHOP

Play as a Therapeutic Pathway to Safety, Connection, and Recovery in Highly Vulnerable Contexts

Join a specialized five-day workshop for professionals working with trauma, crisis, and vulnerability, led by the creators of Crisis Play Therapy™, Claudio Mochi and Isabella Cassina.

This intensive and experiential workshop introduces the Crisis Play Therapy™ approach and explores how play can support safety, connection, emotional regulation, communication, resilience, and recovery in highly vulnerable and crisis-affected contexts.

WHY CRISIS PLAY THERAPY™?

When people experience trauma, crisis, displacement, loss, or prolonged adversity, traditional therapeutic approaches may not always be immediately accessible or appropriate. Play can provide another pathway.

Crisis Play Therapy™ places safety and relationship at the center of the therapeutic process, using play as a medium for expression, communication, connection, regulation, meaning-making, and resilience.

The approach can be adapted to different ages, cultures, settings, and levels of vulnerability, and integrated into individual, family, group, and community-based work.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPLORE

During the workshop, participants will explore:

  • Trauma, Neuroscience & Play – Understanding the impact of trauma and crisis on the brain, body, development, and relationships.

  • Safety & Connection Before Deeper Work – Creating safe, responsive, and relational therapeutic environments.

  • The Therapeutic Power of Play – Using play to support communication, emotional expression, regulation, meaning-making, and resilience.

  • Play-Based Interventions in Crisis Settings – Practical sensory, creative, symbolic, movement-based, and relational approaches.

  • Play Therapy & Expressive Arts Techniques – Exploring practical techniques, particularly for work with children and adolescents.

  • Cultural & Contextual Responsiveness – Adapting interventions to different cultural, developmental, social, and crisis contexts.

  • From Theory to Practice – Learning through experiential activities, case examples, discussion, and practical application.
